Eight of us (members of the Northern Rough Riders)arrived for the launch of the exhibition at about 2.30pm & were almost immediately greeted by a loud roar of approval... but we soon discovered that this roar came from football supporters at the nearby Easter Road stadium! I found it really pleasing to see so many folk watching & listening to the documentary. In addition to a free BBQ; wine ,whisky & beer flowed freely throughout the event (but I think we all abstained from the alcohol). During the afternoon members were frequently questioned about what we did, about Tranquility our wild west town etc. Many of the audience seemed to have connections with the North East in one way or another & we handed out many of our contact cards with club details. Towards the close of the exhibition we were invited to put on a show for the audience which possibly peaked at over 200. We performed “Henry & the Gunfighters”. The audience was delighted. There were roars of laughter at all the right places. One wee girl came up to me afterwards & asked “How do you make your gun work like that” ( I think she might have been about 7/8 yrs old). I told her the important thing to remember was to always keep your gun clean & she walked away satisfied.
Thanks for inviting us down Katri we all enjoyed the event & were so glad to have accepted the invitation. And it was great to meet Wyatt Earp (aka Ian Grant ) in the flrash for the first time.Best wishes for the remainder of the exhibition
